COOPERATION WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS

The IABC cooperates actively with other organisations in Indonesia and Australia. The IABC works closely with the Australian Government through its Embassy in Jakarta, particularly with the Economic Section and Austrade. The IABC also works closely with the Indonesian Government Ministries, especially with ministries related to economic affairs.

The IABC is a member of the International Business Chamber (IBC), a consultative body of 15 international and bilateral chambers of commerce and business associations. The IBC discusses issues which affects business and investment in Indonesia and submits its input to the Indonesian Government. Through IBC, the IABC is able to channel through the concerns of Australian businesses and investments in Indonesia. Currently, the IABC holds the Chairmanship of the IBC.

The IABC acts as the Bilateral Committee for Australia within the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia). In this capacity, the IABC is able to provide input to the development of Indonesia Australia commercial relationship. The IABC is often consulted by the Indonesian Government on issues relating to the bilateral relationship.

The IABC is also part of the regional network of Austchams and Business Councils in Asia. This enables IABC to be kept informed on regional development, particularly in ASEAN countries. IABC members can also enjoy member’s reciprocal privileges and network with local businesses when they are visiting countries in Asia.
