B20 Indonesia Inception Meeting 27 January 2022
The B20 Indonesia Inception Meeting was held on 27 January 2022 with prominent keynote speakers addressing the most pressing issues on the global economic agenda. This event marks the official start of the B20 2022 cycle, culminating in the B20 Summit on tentatively 13-14 November 2022 in Bali, scheduled back-to-back with G20 Summit.
The inception meeting was officially opened President Joko Widodo and was attended by Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Trade Minister M. Luthfi, Communications and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate, and ambassadors from G20 countries. Attending via teleconference from the Bogor Presidential Palace alongside President Joko Widodo are Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and KADIN Chairperson Arsjad Rasjad.
The aim of the B20 Inception Meeting is not only to formally and publicly start B20 Indonesia presidency with the theme of Advancing Innovative, Inclusive and Collaborative Growth, but also to share context and latest update relevant to B20 Indonesia umbrellas, namely:
1. Embracing a collaborative recovery and growth
2. Boosting an innovative global economy
3. Forging an inclusive and sustainable future
